Heater Air Inlet Duct Install
Last week when I posted pictures of all the leaves, twigs, etc in the vents in my truck, as I tried to remove the rubber "accordion-like" duct that goes from the vent to the heater, it tore into pieces. It was completely dry rotted.
I had thought I needed to install a new heater core, but after finding all those leaves and debris blocking the air from getting to the core, I do not think I need to replace the core.
So....in order to install the new duct, ,do I still have to remove the heater box? Is this as simple as removing a cover from the box? Or, am I still going to have to removed the heater hoses, and the entire heater box, just to install the new rubber inlet duct?

UPDATE: I installed my new Heater Air Inlet Duct Saturday and I am happy to report that I did not have to remove the heater box. It took about 10 minutes to get the rubber duct into place. Also replaced the defroster hoses. And after cleaning all the leaves, sticks, and other debris out of my vents and from around the heater core, my heater and defroster work much better.
