Adding the upper body molding...need a hole size

For the piece of trim/molding that goes in the “dent” (and not the rare narrow strip), for the short piece that wraps around the back corner of the cab, what size drill bit is used to make the hole that the springy clip goes into. I don’t want to “just make an educated guess” and possibly screw it up.

Also, I need one of the steel plate that fits in the very front of the front fender trim, the steel “insert” of sorts that the flat gold head of the screw/bolt that goes through the fender clips into. Thanks in advance for your help.

Not available by itself, only supplied with the moulding.

Upper bodyside moulding with black vinyl insert were standard equipment on 1973/76 Ranger XLT's.

Also available on 1977/79 XLT's and 1978/79 Lariats if Race Track mouldings were deleted at the purchasers request.

This didn't happen very often, because the trucks had to be special ordered to delete the Race Tracks, which were standard equipment.

The upper front fender, door and cab corner mouldings w/black vinyl inserts were the same with Race Track mouldings.

The bed mouldings were not the same, because the Race Tracks had a curved end where the vertical mouldings attached that tied the upper to the lower Race Tracks.

Better to have it drilled to small than to big. If I was home I would go measure that hole in the dent cab corner, but I am not. I am sure some member knows that hole size and will respond. As far as the front fender steel plate piece, you mean exactily which one? 1 or 2 ?

or 2?

Yeah, for sure I don’t want to drill it too big.

From your photo, I need a no. 1

PM sent! For sure, I can wait. I’ve bought the other clips I need from LMC and Carpenters but these clips just don’t seem to be listed. Thanks a lot for your help on this.

Now, if someone can measure and report the hole size for the cab wrap around trim I mentioned I’ll be all set.
thx
