Looking for EGR tube

I have a 1996 f150 4.9. I need a replacement EGR tube with the DPFE hoses on it. I broke my old one and either need a replacement or a way to repair the old one.

The tube is no longer available. Your best bet it a junkyard. There was someone here on the forum that was able to have a shop fabricate one for them.

Does this look like it? that is a f6tz-9d477-e. reason i ask is you mentioned tubes coming off it.
https://www.ebay.com/p/F6TZ9D477E-Tu...ord/1823398789

That fits 1996 F150s with the 5L engine. Been down that path a time or two...

I didn't really think it was the right one, I had seen it was for the 5.0 but wasn't sure if Ford might have used some oddball part from another engine as I read somewhere that the 96 was the only year they used the EGR tube with the dpfe tubes on the 4.9. Cannot recall where I read it at.

It's similar but the bend is a little different. I'm contemplating bringing the old one to an exhaust shop and have them weld a new elbow on it. I could but I don't have a tig welder and my mig would burn right through it.

F6TZ-9D477-E is the correct part number for your unicorn EGR tube (4.9L engine).

I always take internet photos with a grain of salt. If you go to a good parts site you can verify that part number F6TZ-9D477-E will fit your 1996 4.9L engine. F6TZ-9D477-P is for a 5L 1996 F150/Bronco.

Is there a difference between trucks with CA emissions and ones without?

Try "1996 ford 4.9l DPFE tube" in google. you will come up with a bunch of hits including threads from this site explaining it and how difficult they are to find.

As far as i know every truck in 96 with a 4.9 had them as they were all DPFE and MAF because they were OBD2. Only 1996 came with them because of that. Another of Ford's oddities.
AGAIN "as far as I know". That is not saying absolutely yes they all had them. (been down this road before with other parts for trucks some had the parts some didn't).

Yeah I know they are basically impossible to find. I think and exhaust shop is my best bet at this point.

The Ebay link previously posted is the correct EGR tube (pretty sure) and it is sold by Tasca Ford. They are a fantastic retailer. Call them up to verify the part number is correct then order one directly or through E-bay. Sometimes the prices are actually cheaper on their web site. Granted it is pricey, but if yours broke in one spot, where is it going to break next?

This is the one Randy says works on your 4.9. No pic so no salt needed.

I had to get mine from a junkyard. Took a few months and many trips to different yards to find it as someone already mentioned, it only comes on one year and one engine. The question I have for you, Armyrules 2, is does the EGR tube AND the DPFE hoses snake up through the rear-most two arms of the intake manifold? For some reason, I was thinking only the two DPFE tubes came up that way, and the main tube came up behind the intake manifold. I really can't remember though.
