98-2000 4X4 conversion

98-2000 4X4 conversion

Hello To All from N.C.
Had my first ford at the age of 17. Now 55 looking to do a ford van conversion to 4x4. I came across a 2000 e-350 extended with 64k on the clock about 3 years ago. I now have the oppertunity to pick pick up a 98 e350 dead Quigley 4x4. Trying to find out if all parts are interchangeable? I will start looking through the forums, any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Why or how is the Quigley dead?

4x4 works, motor is bad , body is rough , frame is fine.

How much is the Quigley van? Does it have the same engine and transmission as your van? If the motor is shot and the body is rough, the suspension components, front axle and transmission may need repair or replacement, also. You may spend just as much money if you were to buy new components. Ujoint is in NC and a supplier of parts to do a 4x4 conversion.

I'd consider swapping the bodies and engines, scrapping what's left over and unusable. This isn't as huge a project as it might seem, would be slightly easier than swapping all the 4x4 components. IMHO of course.

I was thinking body swap also. With the bodies off, swapping engines is extremely easy.

Yep---the ONLY thing that MIGHT make this slightly challenging is whether the donor engine has PI heads or not---given the years of the two vans that's unknown.

Body wiring should be close enough (assuming both motors are the same heads) the existing harnesses and PCM's might be direct swaps as is---that'd be pretty much the perfect scenario.

Gettin if you do swap bodies a big must have would be EVTM's for both vans you'll be working on----those would be very helpful to the process.
