Body Swap 08 SD XLT

I've got a 2008 SD XLT 4x4 6.8L V10. The paint job is terrible. It's like someone tried to use bedliner on the whole thing but botched it completely. To get it redone would be huge money because the prep work would be so extensive. Plus, the bed isn't in the most pristine condition either.

Is it possible to swap every panel on this truck with panels from another SD? If so, which years and models would easily swap onto this vehicle? I'm under the impression any SD up to 2016 would fit mine... Since mine is V10 gas burner, would there be problems trying to swap panels from a diesel?

Thanks for the replies guys. This is my first truck and I'm just realizing how much fun it is to modify different things. Its dangerous though...my passion is slowly taking over.

The easiest panels to swap would be panels from the exact same year but any 08-10 truck would work. The doors and cabs were pretty much the same from 99-16, but the front end (grill, fenders, headlights, core support, etc.) was different. The beds are also interchangeable from 99-16.

There are alot of options to chemically strip whatever is on there. Have you looked at anything like that? Unless the bed liner is hiding alot of rot/dents.

I ended up being

Heres a photo of what it looks like. I ended up being able to remove it with a flex putty knife. But that will take too long to do whole vehicle. So I plan to sand, prep for putting actually bedliner paint on the entire exterior. Still trying to decide if I'm going to go line-x/professional route, or prep and spray myself/with some help of auto body friend of mine. I feel confident we can do the prep and spray work in a professional manner. I just want the line-x products. But you can't purchase those, not to mention it apparently requires a 20,000 machine to spray the hot paint. So i'm trying to figure out which bedliner is best and then perhaps use a polyurethane coat on top of it to protect from fading. Anyways, thats the update right now. If anyone runs across this pic and knows what kind of paint this is, I'd love to hear. Ive taken it to several body paint shops and none of them have the slightest clue what it is.
