I believe you change them from underneath by removing a couple of clips at each end of the board and bending back the plastic covers, then twisting out the bulb socket.
Go LED if you can. I replaced mine with LEDs and they are much brighter and overall better (just my opinion).
LED was the plan, I bought a pack of the 1194 LED for my dome,map light mod and was hoping to use the 1194s but it appears the bulbs may not be 1194 according to the above post :/
The bulbs are 194's or T10's. I literally replaced all 4 of mine yesterday with T10 LED's. While you're at it, the license plate lights, glove box lights and the overhead lights in front row can all take T10's or 194's.

Awesome. I bought a box of a dozen 194 leds because I did the dome mod and was hoping to put them to good use. Hopefully I will get it done in a rain gap this weekend.
