Eye opening article - stolen vehicles

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...ties/38279111/

The data is from last year but interesting article. If you own a Ford or Chevy pickup, or a Honda Civic congratulations you own one of the most stolen vehicles in America. I was surprised how many states listed the Ford pickup as the most stolen vehicle....lots of southern/western states. My old home state of Michigan had the Chevy Impala as number one!!! Thanks Detroit!!!

Based on what I've read, Ford hasn't done us any favors with how easy it is to break into the cab.

It's rather ridiculous how easy it is to break into these trucks. Your best bet for added protection is Jimmi Jammers or deleting the lock cylinder in your front door.

I keep my extra fob in one of THESE. My daily fob gets tossed into a metal watch container with a lid, and its interior has been lined with cardboard that is wrapped with aluminum foil. Excessive? Yeah, but the truck hasn't left the driveway without me. There have been a few keyless vehicle thefts nearby, mostly across the river in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

The problem with type of article is the journalists often overlook theft rate when presenting total thefts. For example, the F150 and the Civic are among the best selling vehicles in the US, so it stands to reason that the theft total would be high.

A different question is how many F150 trucks per 100,000 sold are stolen? Put another way, if 10 Bugatti’s are stolen out of 20 sold...

Install Ravelco. No one will spend the time required to steal it or go grab a flatbed. Great peace of mind.
