Is yours 31 spline? Thinking all my stuff is 28 spline(thus no need for it). I'm trying to recall if the housing itself is the same? Or is the side bearing ID different?(likely). Let me see what I have.
1979should have tapered axle bearings? Not sure what year they changed that around. I'm not real familiar with 73-up.

There's no way to know which bearing is present until you pull an axle and take a look-see.
What you may run into on a '69 is, there were two types of differential bearings/cups, large cone and roller & slim line.
1969 F100 before serial number J30,001 use the cone and roller type. From serial number J30,001 use the slim line type and do every other 9 thru 1987.

1980/87 9's have the large ball type bearing, as did 1961/73 9's. 1974/79's could have either. 1957/60 F100 9's have the medium ball type bearing.
When Ford introduced the 8.8" integral in 1983, some F100/150, Bronco and E100/150 had it, some didn't, because the 9 was also available thru 1986 in F150/Bronco, thru 1987 E100/150.
