The front fender is bad and because I need to buy new and paint...... I really like the 85 front. If I purchased 85 fenders and the 85 grill would they match up on the 88. Engine is being swapped to a 302 so all In all what do I need to do. Thanks yall

To the best of my memory, the 87-91's will take the newer front end panels (92-96) readily but backward compatibility is not nearly as simple. Body lines shifted at some point in the production run and that 86-87 restyling may have seen that change. There used to be plenty of folks here who knew for sure.

Front and rear wheel openings will not match if only fronts are changed. But if going that far easy enough to change out the rears as well.

You would need a core support and cowl panel from the 85 too. The front clip will bolt on, but the shape of the wheel arch will not match the rear arch. It is not a hard swap, I put an 84 front clip on my 95 in 2 days.
