2011 F350 6.2 XL. The message center switch/buttons on the steering wheel are intermittent. Will make contact and work when cool/cold. Do not work when the cab temps warm up. Cruise control buttons DO work in all temps. Have replaced the switch assembly and used contact cleaner on pigtail connector contacts, but problem still exists. Is there a electrical slip ring in the steering column that I could access and try cleaning? Thanks.

 

I would suspect the clock spring is bad. If you turn the steering wheel to various positions of the 360*, do the buttons work?

 

Thanks Larry, I'll check it out. Too cold outside now to mess with it. Neg temps. Did some research on clocksprings and it sure appears to be the problem. You pointed me in the right direction. Thanks.
