My Maxx batteries from Walmart are going on their fifth year, group 65, but only 700 CCAs! I recently learned on FTE our trucks call for 750 CCAs minimum. Walmart has Maxx batteries, group 65, with 850 CCAs. Due to my past good experience with Walmart batteries, I'm upgrading to their 850 CCAs when I need batteries. Free replacement for 36 months, then 24 months with prorated option. Oh, their 850 CCA batteries are only $93 each plus tax!

I just confirmed again with the EastPenn rep that the Duracell AGM Group 65 battery at Batteries Plus is the exact same battery as the 9A65 Deka Intimidator AGM produced by EastPenn.
With 20% off I can get those two of those batteries out the door for $350 bucks with a 4 year free replacement warranty. I believe I am going to do that. I guess I can guinea pig these batteries to some degree, as I have not seen anyone mention them, outside of a hearsay comment.
As a side note, I am interested why I cannot find anyone running the Interstate MTZ-65 AGM. Its expensive, but still less than Odyssey and similarly priced AGMs...

i don' use AGM batteries.
and you can not even get an odyssey battery here, after they shipped a batch of dead batteries a few years ago and would not warranty them. even the brand new ones direct off the truck a week before.
after that, no one will carry them. if you want one, you have to mail order it.

I am interested in that for sure. Do you have the part number for those batteries by chance? did you just contact your local CAT dealer?

Grown men with grizzly beards come a runnin at the mere mention of the word CAT. That's branding power.
Of course, CAT isn't in the business of manufacturing batteries. CAT makes tractors.
CAT batteries are manufactured by East Penn, the same battery manufacturer the OP has been talking to and about.
