4" Exhaust. What to get/not to get?

I am looking to add 4" exhaust here pretty soon to my 03 F250 w/ SB CAI only. Wonder what all I need? Was looking on Ebay and see so many different types. Looking to keep it under $300 if possible. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mine had it when I bought it but I wouldn't put anything other than quality SS in, myself. I'll be more expensive but it's a once and done.

I went with a Diamond eye 4” turbo back. You just have to make sure it fits your trucks size, single cab, X cab, CC and then the bed. Then decide if you want a muffler etc.

I installed the MBRP 4" system on my truck. The DP was a bitch to get in...

I have since removed the MBRP downpipe since I installed the CSD T4 kit. I was very happy with the MBRP (muffler included) kit and am still very happy with the CSD/MBRP setup.

If you are in the south or never get up north during winter, you can get the cheaper metals for the tubing.

I installed the MBRP 4" Turbo back on mine a few winters ago. I didn't have a problem installing the new DP, but did have to cut the stock DP to get it out.
I ended up going with the Black coated kit. The tip shows signs of fading/wear. I'm pretty sure that is due to road chemicals and dirt roads. It's only about the bottom third of the tip, right below the rear tire splash guard.
I'm probably due to get back under the truck and make sure the alignment on the pipes is still good.

If I could go back in time...not sure I'd have swapped out the OEM stuff.

I have the MBRP in 4" stainless with muffler.

The previous owner of my truck had installed the 5" kit with no muffler.

Night and day difference - the 5" was obnoxiously loud and cab drone was horrible.

I do recommend spending a little extra to get stainless. The quality of steel used in aftermarket exhausts is low. Non-stainless variants will rot out a lot sooner than the factory piping, which is typically of much higher grade.

I'd actually like to add a secondary muffler to quiet it down a bit more. I hate loud vehicles.

If I am not mistaken does this come with a muffler? What is the cylinder looking thing? I know Diesels don't come with catalytic converters like gas do.

I just think that there are far better places to gain performance than a 4" exhaust. @srb150 I used the tag cuz I think srb150 has some info about having kept the OEM exhaust...with a T4 set-up.

It's be proven to add HP (not that is exactly what I am going for), but it is to help the motor breath/exhaust better. My next step was adding a Hydra tune to it as well. The exhaust for $300 isn't bad. I am used to spending $1500+ for exhaust on my old C6Z06.

Yes, that’s a muffler. The E99’s did have CATS.

Yea I figured it was a muffler. Kinda threw me off for a bit haha. I think straight pipes would be too loud, especially when I will be having little ones riding in the back.

I’ve been very happy with the Diamond Eye, the price was excellent, it fit perfectly and 3 years later still no rust.

I just put the 4" stainless Diamond Eye with no muffler on my 2000 F250 4x4 yesterday. Plan on taking the cross member off, makes taking the old off and putting the new on much easier. It did take a minute to get everything lined up where it wouldn't rattle. Its really not that loud unless you standing right at the exhaust pipe. The only nit I can pick is that I would have liked to have band clamps instead of the standard clamps. More $$$ thought.

I got mine from Full Force for $360.
