Not too bad Morris. Bit of a grey damp day here right now. Still have a fair bit of fog in the area, They are calling for some strong storms tonight. How are you doing?

We have already had less so far this month then last year which is a good thing. But I could do without the strong thunderstorms tonight. I know my dog does not like thunderstorms. Add to that they said the storms could have strong winds, maybe some hail, and potential for an isolated tornado.

My dog hates gun shots, loud noises so I`m sure she wouldn't like thunderstorms either Shaun. I hate storms with strong winds as I lose a lot of my older trees. I`ve never seen a tornado close up, it would really scare me.

Never seen an actual tornado myself but have done the cleanup from one that had missed my home town of Winkler by about 3 miles, it had hit a couple of farms in the area. Worked with an idiot that was always seeing tornadoes, he was the pot head truck driver that did the hauling at Wards ground services.
Was windy here and it looks like a rain storm went south of us, checked the tires on the truck and car plus blew out the air filters.
Hope that the Jets get their act together tonight, Colorado outperformed Calgary all game and deserved the win, should be the end of the flames now.
Toronto sure played a stupid game, did everything they're not supposed to do, hope they smarten up.

That's about as close as I want to be to a tornado John.
There was just a bit of a morning sprinkle that didn`t amount to anything Perry. After dinner the wind really picked up for about 20 minutes, now it's been sunny and dead calm.

We had a tornado 14 miles south of town that killed 3 Americans from Arkansas back in 2009, this was a clipping from CTV news in Winnipeg..

Third victim of Ear Falls tornado found

  • 0

The Canadian Press
Published Monday, July 13, 2009 10:08AM CST Ontario Provincial Police have recovered the body of an American tourist believed to be swept away by a tornado.

An F-2 tornado packing winds of up to 240 km an hour hit a fishing village south of Ear Falls Thursday night.

Witnesses tell CTV News it lifted a cabin off its footings, threw it in the air and tossed it in the lake.

Three American tourists were believed to be inside at the time.

Shortly after the storm 78-year-old Stanley Hollis and 65-year-old Bernie Jackson were located in the water several metres off shore.

The third man, 66-year-old Dennis Kinkaid had been missing ever since.

His body was recovered just after 7:00 Sunday night.

Police say heavy debris left by the storm and the water's low visibility made the search difficult for divers.

All three victims were from Oklahoma.

Morris the closest I have been to a tornado was less then one mile from my house. This was an EF-1 tornado that bounced. We are under a tornado watch until 0300 tonight.
