I use the Andersen hitch as well and really like it. Very easy to move around.
How does your Truck handle the 349 ?

Thanks for all your input. But I believe owning a 5th Wheel Toy Hauler isn't going to happen anytime soon. Dually or not, I haven't found a Toy Hauler under 40' thats not built on a Lippert frame.

Desert Fox by Northwood Mfg, but it's a TT not a 5th wheel. They make their own frame.

They do make a 5th wheel but it isn't a toy hauler.

Hey Stufarmer, I know this has been mentioned before but this might work for you. They make a really good trailer and it's all aluminum. I saw their operation and it's pretty impressive. They actually drove a forklift on the rear door and it didn't buckle or bend. If I end up going the toy hauler route I may get a bumper pull but it will most probably be an ATC.
Also, the '19's are supposed to be equipped with triple axles.

Funny you mentioned this. I brought this idea earlier to my wife, she said I can't have anything else "Custom Built" after spending nearly $20,000 on a 16' Cargo Trailer in July, So .. I guess we'll be keeping our Lance Camper for now.

That is a nice trailer you had made. If you went with the toy hauler then it would have become obsolete, right? Funny how they have that practical side that reels us in when we get too far out.

It does fine, but you know it’s back there. I’ve towed it in some hills and windy weather and it tows better than my previous 30’ Work n Play bumper pull TH. The 349 is the max weight/size I’d go with a SRW, any bigger and I’d get a 450.

Here's my setup. Forrest River Stealth 2816G behind my 1997 F350 7.3. Carries dirtbike, gear and all the water I could ever need. 150 gallons! Will also fit a 4 seater SxS when the time comes but that would limit that 150 gallon water thing. But I'm learning the places to fill on the way to destinations so I don't have to haul that much water from home. I use the Andersen hitch. Highly recommend!

I just looked at the 28' TH model at the camper show, No wood was a big seller and it was built solid which is a nice change to see in a camper. I also like the enclosure they offer for the patio/gate with a hard roof. But the $50k starting price is a bit much for us. Their 5er TH looks very nice too, guy said most option for $105-110k and there is no "garage" as its all open. All aluminum so the 41' with an approximate dry weight of 10k and a gross of 21k is how they are able tow a jeep and a sxs in it. Pretty impressive.

We looked at a few of the other $125k+ 5er's, cost more than my house put were pretty lol
