So anyone know where a soft hissing sound may be coming from? As I drive down the street all the truck noises sound normal until I really floor it then after the turbo kicks in for a few seconds along with the turbo whistle and hiss I hear a very soft additional hissing sound that only happens when I really get on the gas. And I can't hear it every single time. I did a complete CAC boot replacement about 3 months ago where I had to remove the turbo o-ring between the turbo and "Y" pipe because I replaced the intake manifold boots as well. Could that be it? Or perhaps I'm in need of new up pipes? Ideas?
Thanks!
Have you checked your up pipes for leaks? (soot marks where they join together)
I installed the RiffRaff CAC boots and two of them were leaking even though they looked fine to the naked eye. I had to use a compressor and soapy water to find the leak. I was shocked at how easy it was to find them (even more shocked to see where they were). Just make sure you are putting the air pressure into the turbo inlet boot post CCV. I simply twisted the boot a little and re-clamped (using T-clamps) and that was all it took.

Yep, that is a good thing to remember especially on the plenums. They can get tweaked and just barely leak. Something to consider is the plenum inserts so you can use T-bolt clamps instead of the worm drive.
