There is no doubt this is a 2017+ truck. I think some are just joking around.

X88, I think it's worse upon closer look at the pics...did you see that FRO bumper, for sure a left over part, swear it came from a junk yard. I think he better get that front end aligned before he heads out on a trip...

It's the proper badge from what can be seen in the picture. I think you must be joking, right?

I have thought of the bigger heavier steel bumpers but in an accident like this I wonder how they will affect the crumple zones or the frame, sine they are part of that zone. Even in a lighter I worry they will transfer the hit to somewhere it is not supposed to go.

Thats like saying it's not a 4x4 because there's no 4x4 Decal ..

Yup.. they change the physics from the way the engineers intended.. so the bumper may not crumple, but you may have less leg room by the time things stop moving.

You are 100% correct sir. when you do this it lets Ford off the hook in the case of an accident with respect to the damage to the vehicle and the occupants. All of the testing done by Ford has been negated by a change to one of the biggest variables there is in a rear impact accident. The bumper I have now is so much heavier and more robust (had to replace someone hit me in a parking lot and drove off) but I am aware of the ramifications.
