I just replaced the Three speed Manual with a C4 Trans and the Trany shifs great through all gears with no slip but it shutters like crazy all the time. Shutters less when Idling but as you increase the accelerator it shutters more. Is this a bad Torque Converter?

 

Talked to a Ford Guru here in the Northwest and he told me I put the wrong Flexplate into my Truck... GGGGGGGRRRRRR!!!. Strait Six Fords have a Neutral Balance on the Flexplate or in other words it has no Weight on the Flexplate. The one I put in is for a Small Block Ford V8 Application and that is why my Tranny is vibrating like an unbalanced Drying Machine. Hope I didn't tear up the Rear Main Seal in my 300 six... So Here I go again taking the tranny back out and putting the right flexplate back in it... One thing I did figure out is it shifts like a dream with no slips. Luckily I didn't take it out on a long run, Just up and down my driveway which is about a quarter mile long. GGGGGGRRRRRR!!!!
