Clutch issue in 1949 F3 with 302 and T5 tranny

Hello everyone,

We are needing some advise on how to make clutch and pedals work. We have brake working fine. The truck has a t5 tranny behind a 302 ford engine. We are needing to either replace brake and clutch pedals with new modern mustang ones to make clutch work or figure out how to make the t5 work with the original clutch pedal. I’d like to do cheapest and easiest at this point since we’ve already spent a lot of hours trying to get it to work. We tried to fabricate a system to use the mustang t5 cable with the factory clutch pedal and can’t get enough throw to fully disengage the clutch. I know a ton of people have done the conversion. I’ve looked on this site and tried YouTube and no one seems to address how they are making the clutch work. We have already spend a lot of time on this and are hoping someone can help us get it solved and completed.

Thanks in advance for your advise and experience. John

Amongst the old relics I have out at the farm is a 58 C600. It used a master cylinder and a slave cylinder to push the throwout arm. It would take some fabrication to mount the master and slave, but it might be worth some consideration.

Or... having now read your post again, can you change the attachment point on the clutch pedal end to get more throw? Hook it up further away from the pivot?
