three speed ID

Need help Identifying my three speed. I bought it as a set with a 292...I have no idea what they came out of, or if they came from two different places originally. I want to get a kit to possibly rebuild it and at the very least, put all new seals in it. I also need a transmission yoke to hook driveshaft to, that I will have to have built. Numbers on side with shift levers are AB-7222-B and 92Z.
numbers on tailshaft: WAA-7651-c
There are 28 splines on one end and 10 splines on the other.

I am looking at pics online...not the 277, not the 333....my dad said the cars had the longer tailshaft on the ones he has seen. I was thinking ford light duty three speed from a car. Is that all I need to tell the parts store for rear yoke and overhaul kit?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Appears to be a Ford 3 speed manual w/a non synchro 1st gear used with 223 I-6 & Y blocks from 1954 thru 1962.

But, is it from a car or a F100/250? The engine and trans mount completely different in cars vs. trucks.

If the extension housing on the trans has a flange where the trans mount bolts on, it's from a car.

Cars also have right and left front engine mounts (steel/rubber insulators) that bolt to the block then to engine supports on the frame rail.

Trucks have 2 center front rubber insulators, one above, one below the cross member. The truck bell housing has 2 "ears."

There are 4 rear engine rubber mounts, 2 per side. 2 below the cross member, 2 above the cross member below the ears.

I doubt that an auto parts store will have a yoke (especially for a truck this old), because originally, these were a Ford dealer item only.

And btw: How do you know it's a 292? It could be a 239/256/272/292 from a car/truck or a 312 from a car.

Pic from 1949/59 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog. Notice the flange on the 7A039 extension housing, where trans mount bolts on.

Thanks for the quick reply. I think the transmission is from a car since it does have a mounting bracket about mid ways that looks like it would bolt up somewhere instead of just hanging onto the bell housing like trucks I have seen. The engine appears to have been from a truck...unless the metal bracket on front of engine and the bell housing were put on this engine to mount in a truck.

From my research....
The engine block number is B9AE...which looks to be 1959/1960 car/truck with 292...or 312 if it has ECZ main caps, which I don't know.
ECE 9431B exhaust manifolds...1955/56 from what i have found
B9EA-9425-B intake manifolds ...1959 from what I have found

front motor mounts

mounting bracket in middle of transmission

bell housing...you can barely see one motor mount there

Was there something I was supposed to look for on the front of this?

The TRANS is so dirty it is hard to pick out certain features. Can you take it to a quarter car-wash and blast it?

Does it load from the top or side?

If it is a BW, there should be ID CASTING I.D. on the right side of the main case (example - BW T-85).

The AB-7222-B ID number off the side cover, tells me this is a Ford light duty 3 speed w/a non syncro 1st gear.

The flange on the output shaft points to a car trans mount, and...this is actually a Warner T-86.

Upper pic shows 7222 side cover, shift levers and other razz-mah-tazz.

Thanks a lot. I do need to wash things up...it has been setting in my garage for little bit. It has been so cold and wet in AR lately. I am restoring my 1960 F100 this year. I have the body off...blasted, primed and painted frame. I will have everything painted on the body while I get the frame set up...new brake lines, brakes, fuel lines, leaf springs, engine, trans, driveshaft, etc...then hopefully, I will just set body on and finish hooking everything up. My engine is currently being rebuilt and should be ready in the next month or two. The engine in my garage is just a transmission/engine package I bought. I really just needed a three speed transmission, but since it was a package deal...I have the engine too. My truck started with a three speed, but once it was busted, a four speed transmission from an F600 was put in truck. I just want to try to get the truck as close to original as possible.
