Have you checked the ignition switch? If it starts when you jump the terminals on the solenoid why would you replace the starter?

That is not correct. You put the key in the lock cylinder. The ignition switch is on the column.

Automatic or manual trans?
if manual, Check clutch safety switch on clutch rod. See other posts to bypass this safety switch. Note key word "safety"
If automatic check neutral safety switch. Check for corrosion on all cables from battery , to solenoid, to starter.

Are you testing anything or just throwing parts at it?

I would just keep replacing the starter until it starts.

dont have anything to test with. So im spitting in the wind with this ..this all started after i put in new plugs and wires cap and rotor. It definitely needed a starter so that other jerk can **** off. The starter relay was really coroded i cleaned it up put still didnt work so i replaced it ..the ignition switch was mentioned in a reply above. I get my parts at oreily theres a guy there who is a ford guy. Hes telling me could be the tumbler or something in the steering column. Im in between jobs right now work construction so i really dont want to take it in if i can do it myself. So i spend time on this forum and others to try and trouble shoot

i'm sure no offense was intended, and you gotta admit, it WAS funny.
back to business ... without a multimeter (they are cheap, WAY cheaper than a starter), you can't provide us with any pertinent info and we are all spinning our wheels ... so to speak.

Do any of the indicator lights come on when you turn the key? like the warning lights do normally before you hit the start position? everything power up like blower motor and stuff when the key is in the run position? No blown fuses?
