Thinking of deleting my truck

It's a 2015 I'm wanting to block off the egr and delete it . So my question is I've been trying to look things up and I'm a little confused all input greatly appreciated . Not worried about performance tunes , just for everyday driving and towing. Also input on what tuner thank you 👍

I went to a reputable diesel performance shop and they used the 40490 SCT BDX tuner.

The shop installed:
1) CP4 fuel prevention kit
2) H&S Intercooler pipe
3) SCT tuner
4) Flo Pro Muffler (4")

After getting the truck back I installed the No Limit Fabrication EGR block off plates (4 total)

Total $2600. Not including the $100 No limit block off plates that I purchased separately.

So you want to remove something from your truck that isn't broken. And you have $3,000 lying around with nothing to do?

Runs better. No more DEF fluid. No more regens. Better mpg. More power even if you just run stock tune. If the DEF filter takes a dump you’re stuck and it’s around $3k to replace and you’re back in the same place.
The OP did more than needed just for a basic DEF/EGR delete so his cost was higher than just the basic delete package.

Do the work yourself and you can delete with a reputable tuner for less than $1000. Simple work really.

One of my DEF tank sensors was broken and I didn't want to ever deal with the potential reduction in speed because of this. If it wasn't for this I probably would have waited.
As someone pointed out if you do just the delete (tuner, unplug EGR,, removal of DPF, and new muffler install) you could probably do it far cheaper than I did.

Or just park your truck in a public place and some scum sucking bottom feeder will help you out and just cut it all out for you!

Due to emissions laws getting tougher and dealers are being required to ensure all the equipment is there before they can sell the vehicle these are becoming a target. It happened to me in Edmonton Alberta last night.

Happened right in front of my hotel in a nicer part right off the main drag.

@EDC8008, I would have thought the noise from cutting the pipe and the size of the dpf would have triggered someone questioning what was happening. That's a pretty bold theft!

@Bohen, someday I suspect I'll look harder at deleting if I continue to have problems with the DEF system. I don't know if you have emission checks in your state, but I do in Idaho. A lot of diesel trucks running around here deleted though, and I think that's because the emission check just looks to see if there are any fault codes. No codes, no problem passing is my guess. So the tune would need to be thorough enough to prevent the throwing of any codes.

The things some people will do... Unless you noticed the disturbance on the ground first, were you able to start it or did the truck error at key on? The cut wires makes this a mess of an issue.

I deleted before I had any emission issues so that I knew I would have a fully functioning system to reinstall when the time comes to sell the truck.

Deleting when you have a failure sets you up for potentially having to pay twice, first for the delete, then again to make it legal to trade.
