If one wanted that bird, it would be because they wanted a nasty pitted one. The cost to restore and rechrome that one would likely run into the thousands of $$$$, unless you could send it to Mexico or similar.

I supplied a used rechromed one to Danny Downs about 12 years ago and he was making them for a while, then I sold a NOS one to another guy and his came out much better because he has the NOS bird as a mold. Still not perfect and I can tell the difference just looking at them
I've seen a guy selling a repopped stainless steel bird on eBay for $100. Kevin, was this the guy you sold one to.
yes those are made by a guy named Gary and is using a nos bird as a mold. The problem I see with this procedure is they cast it in stainless but then they have to polish it and when it's being polished, material is removed and fine details are lost.
