Dutter 2 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
6.7 radiator replacement
ok so I see that everyone is taking them out threw the front. But why can’t u remove it straight up ?? Looks easier to me but there’s a lot going on on the front of the truck too. And ford just used dexcool ? Any additives

You have to remove the entire front of the truck to get it out. Strip everything and the radiator is at a angle also. There is no pulling it straight up.

And it is NOT dexcool. It is Ford Orange coolant.

Well yeah not straight straight up. And I could have sworn one video said dexcool cus I remember thinking that dosnt sound right. Any aftermarket coolant that’s ford orange? Or just motorcraft.

Its Dexcool, the Ford spec is wss-m97b44-d2 which is on the back of every bottle of licensed Dexcool.

You're gonna use a mishimoto radiator right? Stock units fail all the time if you tow.

If you do go with the mishimoto unit. Do let us now how it works out. I’m interested in their primary and secondary rads, and would like to know how well they work compared to the stock units

Bigjeffs350 is starting off with a positive reputation.
When I changed my radiator on my 6.2 it was impossible to remove the radiator straight up due to the fan shroud. I had to remove the rad support and tilt the radiator forward for it to clear everything. I'm sure the 6.7 might be the same, impossible to get the fan shroud out. And the A/C condensor, oil cooler, tranny cooler, etc are attached to it.

Nope I went with a csf radiator on eBay for $190 because I don’t have the $500 to dish out for a all aluminum. I’d rather replace it twice lol. I’m a certified mechanic so I got all the fancy tools to make it easier. I’m just curious why people haven’t tried removing it from the top. But I’ll play it safe and go threw front. And at work we got dexcool that’s ford approved, found that out today.
