Windfall, I got a bunch of really nice, well maintained 78-79 Ford truck parts ultra cheap from Craigslist.

Part of that deal was a really clean, tight lower mileage NP205 t case boltedbto the back of a c6 auto.

Min is old leaky and crusty with 300k on it bolted to an NP435 4 speed. They look the same eyeballing them. I'd lovE to use the one I just bought

Is this a direct swap?

Thank you!

Yes, they are the same.

Did you happen to get a 78/79 high pinion dana 60 too that you don't need?

Unbelievably, the guy selling the parts said he let TWO of them go for 600 dollars, and couldn't understand why he got so many phone calls for "just those two old axles, when I had so much other nice rust free stuff for sale!" Yes, I damn near pooped when he told me.

Good for you for getting some nice parts for a good price. While not common, deals like this certainly do still happen. I didn't know how desirable the 78-79 high pinion Dana 60 front axle was until I starting spending time on FTE.

Hope the swap goes well.
