'79 Round Style Bedrails ??

Hey guys, I'm looking for a source for bedrail brackets or complete bedrails for my '79 f100 short bed. Tried posting a want add but it wouldn't let me (maybe because I'm new). I've searched everywhere I can think of online including this site. The bedrails I need are the stainless/chrome ROUND STYLE with the Bullitt shaped ends and three chrome brackets per side. Some people say they are aftermarket or maybe dealer installed but I'm not gonna start an argument about that, lol. I'm sure they're obsolete like everything else I own. The chrome on my brackets is pitted and not useable. Gonna try to post a picture but I'm not sure if it will let me. Anyway if anyone has a source for a nice set of brackets or rails i'd appreciate the reply. Thanks in advance

Round style is aftermarket, here's a pic (lower) of the genuine Ford type. Both short and long bed rails were available, the original 1973 part numbers were replaced by 1987 part numbers.

Very similar to the ones 78Hayride posted...but my brackets are a bit taller and BOTH ends have the bullitt shape. The actual round tube looks like the same size as the ones in his pics. Thanks for those pics guys

Hey NumberDummy, thanks for the info on the factory Ford rails. To your knowledge have you ever heard of the round ones ever being installed by dealers?

No dealer would install aftermarket rails unless the customer specified them.

Maybe just be easier to get what you've got rechromed, unless you can find some NOS.

See above picture. Not new style, popular in the '70's & '80's I've heard. Thanks for the links

All I can say is good luck on finding parts for those rails. Those rails were used on many of Ford trucks back in the day, including mine!Parts are rarer than "Hens Teeth"
