Oil leak 2016 Explorer
A few weeks ago I noticed a oil leak from my wifes car. It sorta left a red stain in the drive way. Im not a huge fan of these front wheel drive / disposable cars. I don't really do too much maintenance other then oil change and rotation. But i figured Id take a look and see if its someone i could fix. The car is still under warranty, so I figured at the least I could find the leak and tell my buddy at ford and get it fixed within a day. Unlike my F250 I need to drive this POS up a ramp to create enough space to crawl underneath it. Looking underneath I could tell it was coming from the upper part of the passenger side of the motor. I checked all the fluids, everything was good. From the top looking down I couldn't really figure what was leaking. Turns out the leak was coming from the cylindrical black thingy called a motor mount.... Ford had the car for a few days, they fixed a couple of recalls. No cost out of pocket. I was kinda shocked that the motor mount bushing went bad. Its got low miles, and doesn't leave the pavement. One thing I did learn, these disposable cars have no power steering fluid... its all electric. Anyway I figured id post this just incase someone has similar circumstances. I'll post pix later
