2015 with sctx4 tuner questions

Picked up a new to me 2015 250 platinum with 17k miles. Previous owner installed a sct X4 Tuner and had the exhaust gutter so it would pass visual for smog. I’m not sure about what tunes I have on the tuner or who they are from. Pervious owner said the tunes came already on it and he did not add any but from what I read pre loaded tunes don’t delete dpf. On my dash dpf always shows 0% and is missing the second info page. Would Appreciate any info about this Tuner or guidance you may have with A different one

Thia truck will not pass smog regardless of how the exhaust looks. What comes out the tail pipe will tell the tail. This is the very reason not to buy a truck with a tune. If you live in a smog state they may make you take the truck to a referee to smog your truck. They will make you replace the DPF filter and make all the smog systems functional. Hope you got a killer deal on this truck Sorry I can't help with the tune. It could have come from anybody. Many tuners use the same hand held tuner.

I have a deleted truck it has had zero problems since I did it, I also have the sct tuner. The tuner comes stock with some canned tunes on it for a plug and play application for non deleted vehicles. The people that wrote my deleted tunes use the hand held programmer to put their tunes into. If you plug it in, the menu should ask you what you want to do, if you go to put a tune into the truck it should give you a list of available tunes. Mine says stock with no dpf, tow, performance or race
I hope this helps

I don't think anything is supposed to be on that last page. I know mine is blank after adding the DPF %.

This is the first I've heard of someone going through with gutting the exhaust. I'm curious to know how it sounds.

If your in a visual state and you pass id roll with it. The regens and bs are stupid and a pita. If you have to return to cstock though it might be expensive. Me personally i sourced a used dpf extremely cheap and plan to gut it and find the least flashy block plates or delete plates as once deleted i dont want to be either swapping a bunch of parts once a year or learning the black market of inspections.

Have a question on the tuner sct . When you plug it in to the OBD and download your tune custom one of course does it need to remain in plugged in? If so where's the typical spot to mounted at so it's not in the way?

No. Plug it in, Load the tune, restart the truck, unplug.
