Color identity

Hello all,

Doing some research and trying to determine the color or my dad's 70s f250 camper special. Only surviving picture I have of it before he sold it in the 90s. Picture is from the day after St Helens blew in 1980.

That looks really similar to the colors of my truck, which has color code "7U"

which means

My truck color code

7 - Desert Gold Metallic (Walnut Glow)
U - Cream (Pastel Sand) (Light Sand)

I was able to get modern day paint to match perfectly:

PPG code 3186 for the walnut glow called "DESERT GOLD" (the brown)
PPG code 3185 for the light sand called "PASTEL SAND" (the light tan)

Thanks for the reply but the picture being of poor quality makes the truck look more brown than it is. The truck was actually a two tone, the top being a green of some sort and the bottom being an off white or a cream color. It could have been the Cream color you cited but I'm not sure.

This is close to what I remember the truck being but I don't think the green was that dark

Thanks for the paint swatch. Hard to tell the colors. On two tone trucks would the interior be a different color as the exterior color or would they shoot all one color and then the second?

My '75 is brown and white and the inside is all brown with a different brown trim. From what I've seen of the trucks that are two tone with white on the bottom, the inside seems to be the color that's on the top of the truck.

Here are some pics of the deceased.

Thanks for the replies guys. The car in front is a 69 Fairlane that I know was Wimbledon white. So the truck color doesnt match up to the cream or maybe pastel in the picture.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am going to go with Ivy Glow on top and Pastel Lime on the bottom. At least that is what I see according to the paint chart.

I may have your dads truck.

Hello,
wanted to jump in here 2 yrs late, but I think I own your dads truck. Color code is U8 I live in Battle Ground, Wa

the pic wasn’t very good but I have the exact worn paint areas that I can see in the picture
Can’t be a coincidence.
