I hate to get mine replaced so quickly because of my experiences with this, but it's already right in front of me and I can't stand to look through it everyday.
It's even worse if it is an area that catches sunlight and reflects it back at you. Thankfully my current beauty mark is out of the way but I know based on experience it's just a matter of time before I will be back at my buddy's shop to get a new windshield. Thankfully they aren't stupid expensive as my auto insurance doesn't offer a glass claim like others and if they did it wouldn't be worth the rate increase or any of their limits at the rate I would be replacing them. Lol.

2017 F150 (<1 year / 22K miles) - 1 replaced Windshield & 1 Chip/Star Repair
2017 F250 (<1 year / 20K miles) - 0 replaced Windshields & 2 Chip/Star Repairs (in the nick of time)

all trucks were operated in the same areas and driving style.

I'm on my third windshield in my 18 after 9 months....I had only one windshield in my 06, had a couple chips but got those fixed. These new ones are either under lots of tension, thin or just plain cheap because they crack and spider extrremely quickly. My first one, from the time I got the chip and pulled into the windhild place to fix it was about 5 min and < than 1/2 mile. By then the chip had split almost 2 feet. My second one did almost the same thing.

Yep all of mine have split within the hour of the rock hitting.

2 chips in 3 days this summer. 1 rock chip in all of my other vehicles combined since I started driving. Could be coincidence. Could be these trucks are rock magnets!?
