I currently have a 2000 f250 with 10.5 with 3.75 gears. Was lucky to find one to rebuild and swap out. Only one thing I have found so far different is there is a stamp under the abs sensor that is an N where my original doesn’t. Any ideas?
Not sure about the stamps at the abs senor but the N in the casting signifies that the housing is nodular iron. I don't recall any major physical difference until the 11-up. What you have should bolt up.
So guess that’s a better casting. Wish I didn’t have to go this far and swap axles but the original had a touch of bad luck ground up some bearings and has been that way since I bought the truck until the seal decided to pop finally. Don’t want to risk repairing due to all the metal that stayed in with the oil. Anyways thanks.
My 99 F250 rear axle driver side caliper is facing forward of the axle and has a rock shield in front of it. My 2001 F-350 rear axle driver side caliper is behind the axle. As far as anything else I see no differences
I'd stay away from the early axles that had the caliper in front on the drivers side. They were problematic with getting parts and had sever sticking issues. Hence Ford idea to add the shield which really didnt work
