Another Mazda will be the only direct fit trans, a small block pattern ZF or a T5 would also bolt up to the motor but you have to find or make a cross member and alter the driveshaft. Some of the older 4 speeds would also go in with the right bell housing but the same applies with the driveshaft and cross member.

What is wrong with your trans? Shift forks are a common problem with high miles. They can be replaced with the trans in the truck.
While the firewall flex problem is usually '80s trucks, make sure your clutch is working correctly. Watch for flex in the firewall where your pivots and master cylinder are located, especially if there's any rust to speak of.
Beware the Mazda box was used in Rangers too, but that was the smaller version. Be sure you get the full size version, verifiable via the bell to block pattern matching your trans, amongst other details.

I'd rather find another transmission to hold me off till I can save up to get mine rebuild.
I had posted before about my issue.
It makes a loud grinding noise while driving....it shifts into all the gears just fine....while in neutral or in a gear at a dead stop it doesn't make the noise....but as soon as I start moving and give it gas it makes the noise.... crazy thing is it's only when I give it gas as it's going over like 5+ miles per hr....but as soon as I let go of gas it goes away. Its hard to explain.

The mazda trans has a pretty good reputation. I personally have one in a 1997 1 ton crew cab long bed 4wd with a 351w and its been just fine for about 15k miles. Also have one behind a 96 half ton with a turbo 4.9 that made 520 ft lbs that i run hard daily and its been fine for almost 2 years and its got 220k miles on it. Interesting thing about the zf to mazda swap in the 1 ton is all i needed to do was rotate the trans crossmember 180 so the mount would line up and the driveshaft length was unchanged. The creeper 1st in the zf 5 is just too slow for normal driving. Towing heavy alot of the time would warrant it.
The only mazdas ive seen really trashed is from running low on fluid. They only hold 4 qts
