Might lead into my upgrade plan, will see how this turns out.

I would like to replace the mirrors with a 08+ style, bed line the lower grey section and see about getting my headers Installed as this will be the last year for emissions.

Unless Governor Green Bean sticks his foot into things like he has tried in the past.
Who do you think was in bed with the I-1631 people and said he would run on
climate change for President.

Nice...free mods! When you say “bed line the lower...” I assume you’re talking about spraying the rocker panel section with Line-X or something similar. Is that right? I’ve been pondering having my front and rear bumpers hit with some Line-X to de-chrome the truck and might run the gun along the lower section too for a two-tone effect.

Well the project truck has a title again. Did not even need an inspection.
So $35.00 for the title and the tabs when I am ready will be $101.00
and no emissions do to GVW rules being changed.

So explain that to me...did it lose the title when totaled and now it’s not? And how did you change the GVW?!

On a separate note, is anyone running a home security camera system? I’m looking for input on them. Arlo seems to be the popular brand these days.

When a vehicle is totaled they cancel the title (Not sure on the correct term). If you do an owner retained
and fix it you can ger a branded title for it and that is what I did. And on the GVW I did not make any change
the state did. I am now over the amount that exempts it from any emissions testing. Not sure what the cut off it.
However it won't matter the next cycle as they will not be doing it anymore. BUT don't hold your breath.

I have a camera system. The kits you can buy are not worth much. Most tend to lack resolution and so you
get fuzzy worthless images. I put my own together and used some surplus bank cameras and you can really
tell the former bank cameras from the kit camera.

I have been looking around for a camera system myself. There are a couple guys at work that got there systems off of Amazon but neither of there systems are in there now. Here is what those guys told me and they're both happy with their systems. They both got there's for under $200.

Get a wireless camera system with a 1TB hard drive that you can access with your smart phone.

The one I just pulled up on Amazon comes with 4 cameras and a 1TB hard drive, it is upgradable to 8 cameras. It is a OOSSXX sound a little suspect to me but it is $219.

So Sean, Can you give us the low down on putting one together without buying a kit?

@Onug I plan on bed lining the lower silver stripe black. Protection and get rid of the molding.

The Insurance company called Wednesday afternoon. I need to get a couple quotes, likely happen Monday and then see if a body shop will work with me instead of the factory repairs.

I moved it to the driveway Thursday and stuck the tender on it, need to get a battery for it though. Over six years old now although I haven't had it load tested.

You need a DVR card for a computer or you can use one of the standalone DVR systems.
Then it a case of finding the camera you like.

Some of the high end cameras are made by Pelco, Sony and Bosch.

You might want to do some looking here >>> https://www.supercircuits.com
They run the range from cheap to expensive.
The key you need to keeep in mind is what do you want to see. I have once camera that
can read plates on cars out by the mail box and one that can't. I have others that range
from there. My favorite is the Pelco brand. They also make DVR systems.
https://www.pelco.com/products

When it comes to camera systems you get what you pay for. Most of the little stores
that buy there camera systems from places like Costco give you a fuzzy image.
Now a bank system gives you a nice clear image. The best way to get them and not
make a new fully loaded F350 diesel payment is look for surplus gear.

Here are two of the Pelco cameras.
Other things to keep in mind are what lens and how are you going to power the cameras.
24AC will let you get long runs. 12DC tend to have a lot of line loss over long runs.

Well there's snow here in Alberta north of Edmonton. Hit some lows of -6 F/-21C and highs of 12F/-11C. Boy was I glad i put the block heater in my truck before I left home. Here's a picture looking out the door of the control module.

Doing 10 days on 4 off 10 hours a day for OJT to be a controls specialist. Looking like here till February.

I’ll definitely want to see pictures of that when it is done. If my truck can stay out of the dealership this year, that will be its reward.

Looks like oil equipment. Right? Or mining? Good luck on the training. A 10-10 schedule sounds easier than most alternative work schedules, but I didn’t like working a 4-10 schedule during the week. I’m sure you have to push thru the latter half.

The site I'm at is Pembina here at Redwater in Sturgeon County, about 30 miles northeast of Edmonton. Currently they do are separating propane and butane out of the natural gas. they then pump these gases into underground storage caverns throughout the area. Straight over the snow pile is the Northwest Redwater Sturgeon Refinery, just to the left is Evonik Chemical and then to the right is the fertilizer plant. Yeah there's a lot of oil and gas in the area.

The 10 on 4 off works pretty good up here, finish on Thursday, Friday through Monday off then start again on Tuesday. Gives me a weekend plus 2 days during the week every other week.

And yes it is cold up here. I'm wearing long johns, wool socks, a long and short sleeve "t" shirts, boots, jacket, gloves, cap, hard hat and pants.

I’ve been up to Calgary a few times for work. I know they were hit pretty hard with cheap crude a few years ago. Is this latest drop in crude prices hurting production up there?

Ordered the 3 camera Arlo Pro 2 from Amazon today. Will be setting it up tomorrow and will post info when done.
