Evening Steve. powers goes out too often and for long periods of time. So we use a propane ventless heater. No worries about heat and no power!

No, used a magnet when I compressed the springs. Did drop a keeper on the floor but was easy to retrieve

We have had this heater 25 years and still going strong. I have a spare thermocouple and that looks like all I need.

I have natural gas but rely on power for the furnace fan. We have a generating station in town and a crew to do the repairs and they are pretty quick at restoring power if it goes out. I may buy a generator some day just in case..

Longest outages we get here is when they do maintenance, 5-6 hours but many years ago we had it out for just ove 24 hours when the generating station burnt down the foundation..
