BTW, this is not a slam on OP, or attempt to thread-jack. Just an opinion that I hope others in the process of buying will see.

Some obviously love the moonroof, and some feel a big truck without cab lights is blasphemy. But if you're on the fence, I'd skip both.

Yes, I had to wait for my truck...as all dealership trucks had a moonroof, and several also had cab lights. They also had snow-plow springs...even though I live in the South, but don't get me started on that logic.
My thoughts as well. Smart people don't have holes cut in the roof, any roof. Sooner or later the seal will fail and its only a matter of time.

Let me say this, Ive probably owned at least 12 trucks with cab lights without an issue..ever. Now trucks cost more than ever, new technology, etc. When someone spends $60k on a truck, I think the last thought they should have to worry about is a roof leak. Just call me stupid I guess...

Does anybody know if the 2019s rolling off the assembly line are being outfitted with the thicker gaskets? Has anybody who received the thicker gaskets as a 'fix' had any follow-up leakage issues?...thanks.

All 3 center cab lights were leaking, 2 outside were not. Ordered new ones for the center. While I was there I asked how many of these he has had to repair, his answer was 6 or 7 which is probably more like 20 to 30 in reality.

Just got it back this evening. I got to talk to the contractor that did the repair. He said the gasket has its own adhesive but is narrow and there is a tab built into the light so it will only tighten so tight. Also there is no place to put any sealer. He said its always the 3 center lights he has to fix but on a good note, hes never had a leak once hes put new lights in. Wait and see I suppose.

I watched the you tube video of the new thicker gasket which is E and F I beleive. The parts guy ordered that light as its whats the up to date part#. I saw the lights when they came in and the gaskets were not thick like in the video, however they did have an adhesive on the bottom those dont show. Im not worrying about it, its their baby the way I see it, time will tell.

Just throwing this question out there again...

Mine received the most up-to-date lights which, to me, should have been what was on it from the factory. They do not look thick but did have an adhesive bottom and have not leaked since they were replaced a few weeks ago and its rained or snowed here every other day...

so, Brandon606, you had a dealer replace yours because of leaking? If so, I assume the leaking is easily detected, no searching required??

The day I noticed it there was no problem noticing, it poured out of the upfitter switches into my cupholder. With that said, the repair guy said he cleaned my headliner because it wasnt far from staining which I had not noticed. It must have been leaking from day 1 but not enough to come out where I could see it.
