it is always kept clean Roy. In fact I need to pull it out of its case and give it a good oiling again. probably would not hurt to give it a good polish with the wire wheels as well. Keeps it looking nice and pretty the way it is supposed to be.

Would never happen Roy. Especially when one disassembles the lock to ensure it is clean and oiled properly.

When you change the oil in the musket..... do you use 10W-30.......

No Roy. I use 3 in 1 oil to keep the rust away and everything working smoothly. If I have some brick dust I would add a bit of oil to that and use that to polish the barrel and the lock to a nice shine just like int he old days. Occasionally I have been known to add some bacon grease onto the barrel for a bit of fun. when at an event.
