I know how it feels to have to pack up the office Neil. We did that a few years ago so we could remodel our office. We were using a long folding table, and a small computer table for everything. The small computer table was in our supervisors office and did not have a phone. So if one was the odd person out you got to enjoy a night away from the phones.

Packing does suck, but at least I do not have to move anything. This department moved into this building around 1990 and nothing has been tossed out over the years. Add in the use of personal computers and a network in the mid 90's there is a lot of paperwork that is obsolete. The temporary office is quite a bit smaller than current, but will be smaller than what we will be coming back to so some furniture and files are going into storage.

Storage is a good thing Neil. Hopefully you guys will be able to do some housekeeping of the obsolete stuff during the move.

It is not even going to make it out of this building. It will be left for the B&G guys to toss in the roll off dumpsters that will be parked out back. The building needs to be emptied for the contractor by March 1st. So if it is not moved when we leave or it goes into storage, it will be tossed.

Thats good Neil. I think we need to do some spring cleaning in our storage closet down the hall from dispatch. It is starting to get a bit cluttered.

Spring cleaning is always a good thing to do. Once we come back to the new digs, it will be better organized and separated from the other department on this floor. We are basically going to have our own suite and it will be divided up within that. My counterpart and I are going to have our own office that we will share. As far as I know, it will have doors that will allow us to close our space off to the rest of the suite. The other two teams will have their own areas, but will be open to each other. The reason why we are going to have our own area is due to the thick concrete walls that formed part of the grain elevator that was built in the late 1800's when this was grain house on the old canal. It would be too costly to remove it from above the roof to the basement of the 3 story building.

That's cool Neil. I can understand the cost factor in the renovation. We ran all of the cabling and wiring we needed for our renovation a few years ago. We had to run alot of Cat 6 network cable.

The IT department covers the entire top floor. There will be all new network cable ran through the building along with who knows what else that will be buried in the walls and ceiling.
