Last summer our EBP sensor malfunctioned. Disconnected the pigtail and drove it to get back home. While it did drive, really had to watch the boost pressure. It was often getting too high for comfort.

Yeah I have an OEM EBP to install. I pulled it off tonight and the tube and fitting in the manifold were clear.

i also pulled the VGT solenoid out and it was super clean. When I push it in though it pops back out. I’m assuming this is due to possible internals being stuck... idk...

guess im about to the point of pulling the turbo to clean it up.

I had the same issue with mine. Boost was great, then it would just drop out. I had it a couple of times when I was pulling the camper.
Finally, it wouldn't boost at all and MAP/BARO/EBP readings were screwy. It turned out there was a bit of carbon blocking the EBP sensor.
I removed the EBP tube, cleaned it and the orifice to the sensor and the connection on the manifold and it came back with no issues.
Good Luck.
Oh yeah, I forgot to add, I had the CAC tube blow off twice and was getting major turbo fart. Check that EBP sensor really well and make sure the hole going into the manifold is clear. I thought mine was clear but it wasn't.

Yeah I checked it again, it’s clear. Thanks for the info that makes me feel like im getting close.

what causes the major carbon build up? Would the cab reroute change it at all?

EBP causes all kinds of issues when it goes bad. I have replaced 3 EBP over the last 8 years on my 6.0L! There are tests you can do with a mighty vac, jumper wires, 9v battery and a multimeter to test the map sensor. That would be a starting point.
