Huge redesign of this system for the 2017+ PSD's. I believe it was either job 2 or job 3 trucks that received the anti siphon valve. Otherwise do this service at 1/4 tank or less and you should be OK...don't forget to drain the water separator before replacing the filters and prime the system before start-up.

My dealer wanted $186 to do it. I chose ebay to get the kit for $50 shipped and took me about 20 mins first time. I pay the dealer for oil changes and tire rotations but don't care to pay that kind of mark-up for the fuel filter change.

I found this video very helpful: https://youtu.be/2fseeSLAAP4 especially how she zooms in on and describes how to take the connectors off the engine bay filter. Most videos didn't show in detail how each connector comes off. I would recommend wearing rubber gloves so you don't smell like diesel for a couple says.

Stupid question here, but what do you do with any fuel that is drained or comes out of the filter? I live in CaliForNia where people hug trees and their electric cars. My diesel gets a hug every morning with the warmth of the glow plugs

You might try finding out who picks up the local used fryer oil from McDonalds, Wendys,...etc... They would likely love to take the diesel off your hands to process it.

Or just follow these instructions: https://itstillruns.com/water-out-di...l-7674038.html

Care to explain the 1/4 tank thing? I read this before on a different post (6 months ago) and it has no meaning. I have a job one truck and did it myself at home............ with a full tank.
