I'm assuming you didnt take the reflectors out to paint? And also did you have to sand or trim the back of the reflector to get the projector to sit flush and tighten all the way? Thanks. Once I get the mock up done I'll post someprogress pics and then comes the painting part 😎

I wanted to but i couldn't figure out those stupid metal ball joints sitting in the plastic brackets lol. I had to cut the OEM halogen defuser bracket back enough to clear the projector bowl. First i pulled it out and bent it back and forth until it snapped, then used a die grinder with a cutting disk to trim the rest of it back. (there is a screw holding that piece in but without removing the reflectors i cant see how you'd remove the screw) One of those things where i just trimmed, test fit, repeat till i was happy. make sure there's room for your silicon washer too. The actual depth of the threaded shaft on the projector was enough to where i didn't need to "countersink" the projector into the reflector. I only needed the width of the projector bowl to clear the OEM bracket thingy, if that makes any sense lol.
I did remove the amber lens from the side, required heat gun to melt the plastic tabs holding it in, could've cut it but i figured i could reuse the same plastic to re secure everything but that failed. ended up having to clean up the plastic bits to get the amber/backing chrome piece back on then some epoxy to secure it (hopefully)

Ok thanks that does make sense. Sounds like most projects trial and error. Haha
Oh swag! what projectors and shrouds you using? those projectors look square, i wish i would've gone with square ones instead of just a square shroud over a round projector.

Profile D2s square projectors with gaitling shrouds. Going to paint shrouds blue, bowls white and satin the chrome.
Have to redo the bowls. For some reason the paint started to clump and crack and looks. Horrible so have to try and strip it. Then going to try a different paint.

interesting mine did the same, shop said he had to strip them and second time they looked better. I still ended up sanding and doing another coat myself when i got them home and fully dry.
