What tech do you love/hate on your truck
#47
2018 XLT FX4 5.0 SCrew: Love the truck, I traded in a 12 year old Ram TRX4 on my F150 so it was quite a tech leap for me. I absolutely HATE the Auto Start Stop, whoever ok'd its installation should be horse whipped. I wish I had of got a 2.7 EB instead of the 5.0 is my only regrett.
All the wiz bang stuff is cool but it makes me appreciate my completely stock, under 91K miles F100 for its simplicity.

Hmmmmm, let me see........spend a $100.00 dollars or hit a button after I start my vehicle.
I don`t have this feature on my 2016 Lariat but if I did and if it bothered me, I`d just hit the button after start up or hit it when or if I notice it at a stop. Takes less than 3 seconds to do. LOL
But, it`s your money so if it bothers you that much, go ahead and purchase the item to disable it.

This is also based on it taking 3 seconds to disable auto start/stop each time.
A working person, such as me, has approx 250 working days per year. So, hit the button to drive to work and hit the button to get home. That's 500 times per year.
Weekends are a bit more hectic since our kids play sports and sometimes I go to lunch with a coworker during the week. I also run errands and make stops on the way home...so add another 400 times per year.
That is 900 times per year to hit the button that takes 3 seconds. I keep vehicles for 5.5 year, so my assumed total is 4950. 4950 button hits X 3 seconds is 14,850 seconds. That is 247.5 minutes....or 4.125 hours.
So....this device would cost me $24.24 an hour to buy it (I divided the $100 by the 4.125 hours).
This doesn't include the time to install the device....which...ironically....would take more time than it saves you if installation requires more than 4 hours....
Again, that was just for fun. I like to play with numbers.
I rarely hit the auto s/s button, so it would probably cost me $5 a hit to use that device.

NO KIDDING! Some idiot decided the "Braille type" raised nubs on the cruise buttons wasn't needed. Now in the dark I'm having to look down and take my eyes off the road or feel around.

I have a soft tonneau and I don't really see what difference it makes. If someone really wants to get in the bed, they will. Having the tailgate lock along with the doors is a plus for me. It will definitely help keep the tailgate from being stolen.

Glad it works for you.
