Anybody here gone through this new process renewing our Ohio D/L's? Just wondering besides the current hard copy license what other documents need I bring with me?

I've read the Ohio DMV website and it says "may need......."---I'm wondering what they actually want. Not looking for the higher security level or "enhanced" I think they're calling it---just the "normal" old D/L! .

you can still get the normal licence. or the new style I got the new took ss. card birth and a bill with my name and address.

 

I finally just called a Deputy Registrar to get their take on it all---for the "standard" D/L renewal my current ID will work fine. I was prepared for a 3rd degree interrogation just for a new license but as usual the local news hacks made this sound like all sorts of nightmarish BS.

no a big deal to get new one.

 

 

they pop holes in your old one and give it back along with a piece of paper you have to keep on you. I got my new one within 5 days.

 

there will be certain restrictions with the regular or current drivers license like you will not be permitted inside a government building and flying possibly... not sure on the later. The new license will allow you all the privileges. Just have to wait for it to arrive in the mail. MY sister said they punch a hole in your old one and give you a paper to keep with you until the new one arrives.
