91 E4OD WHAT THE HELL?
Let's get the preliminaries out of the way;
1991 F350 7.3IDI E4OD CCLB 4X4 SRW
I am doing some maintenance and I decided to change the transmission fluid and filter. I dropped the pan and the fluid looks great and the magnet contains very little metallic material with two very notable exceptions. These two machine screws we're stuck to the magnet. I've been having no problems with the transmission at all.
A simple fluid and filter change is the limit of my expertise with automatic transmissions of any kind. Someone please tell me what to do from here.

Those are from the solenoid pack.Put them back in! lol.Go around and check all the valve body bolts along with those and the rest of those to make sure they're all torqued properly.
Edit; We posted at same time I guess.That second pic,see the yellow plastic cover? Look around that.That's where they belong.I wouldn't let it alarm you either.They probably just didn't get properly torqued when someone changed it out at some point is all.
6 to 8 ft-lbs.

No problem.Your welcome.Oh no,I wouldn't suspect any failure.The firm shifting could be just in your mind?I would just drive your truck and enjoy it.If you suspect anything wrong after a few days,just scan for codes but it's likely you'll find if there were any issues,it would be unrelated.
Edit; Oh you've got an IDI truck.Just scan for codes now so it puts your mind at ease since it's free.You have a obd1 scanner right? Scan it,see the 11 system pass code and run 'er.

I can only imagine the terror of having bolts come out with the fluid! Good to see it was a simple fix--and good eye, XLT!
Maybe the loose solenoid pack was leaking enough before to drop the line pressure, and low line pressure was making it shift softer? Just a guess, I don't know the E4OD.
