Crank no Start Fuel Driver Module ?

99.5/F-250/5.4

Chasing down a 'crank but no start' intermittent mystery for a friend. Suspecting crankshaft sensor but was curious if this truck would have a 'fuel driver control module' like im seeing on F-150s & 'E250s and later year superdutys with the 5.4 ?? I dont have the truck in my shop yet, other wise I would just look around the rear cross members.... Anyone know ?

No FPDM on a 99 F250.
That started in 2005 on Super Duty.
Started in 2004 on F150 new body style.
When you get it, I would verify spark and fuel pressure. Intermittent issues can be difficult to reproduce.

Most hand-held scanners should have a freeze frame data feature which would help capture anything like you describe here.

Is the MIL on or to your knowledge are there any DTC's you can retrieve?

The MIL is not on and this problem comes and goes, he seems to get 'around' it most the time by cycling the ignition key numerous times before trying to start it... I do have a decent scanner and will plug into the truck when I get it in my shop.
