Hi, from Argentina - 317,332 or 368??
Hi! Sorry for my writing, I'm using a translator ....
I got a pair of unarmed engines which were placed in trucks of the 500/600 series of year 56/57 marketed by Ford. I can not know what engines are ..
The code of the block is ECU = cid 368, but the bore is 96.5 mm (3.8 in) = cid 332
Block heads 6090 - ECT - B and other 6090 ECT - C
Does anyone have data on which models came armed for South America? If it is 332, can it be modified to 368?
Thank you

Welcome to FTE.
It appears you have "Lincoln Y-block" engines. They were used in Lincoln cars and heavier trucks in the US.
From what I can find, for Argentina, the engine should be a 292 or maybe a 272, which are Ford Y-blocks. Ford and Lincoln Y-blocks do not share parts.
The ECU block seems to be a Lincoln Y-block for 368 or 332. The 368 is a 4 inch bore, the 332 is a 3.8 inch bore. I do not know if you can bore the block to 4 inches if you have a 3.8 inch bore now.

Hi 85e150six4mtod, thanks for your answer. In Argentina were very popular y-block 292 to which they made a change in the head of cylinders for the quality of fuels and they were called Ford V8 phase 1, then Ford Argentina modified these engines which they called Ford V8 phase 2 used until 1980/82.
The two engines of the previous post, should be 332 that were installed in trucks F600 and big job, probably with modifications to use our fuels.
I have found some more data about these engines, the 302, 332 and 368 share block, I do not have data if also crankshaft and connecting rods, I will continue investigating. If someone has a reference website, it is appreciated.
regards

BEST GASKETS has the gaskets.
Two Engine Series - PASS CAR (317-341-368) and HEAVY TRUCK (279-317-302-332)
302-332 Solid Lifters w Cam Gears - Reverse Rotation
Did they use this series down there?

FORD had a Casting Plant in SA (Brazil I believe) for the FYB. The FYB was used in Argentina. Just wondering if South America used the LYB Series in HT.
