07 EB Exp EL - New compressor, condenser, TXV
Replaced above parts, old compressor totally shot. Worked fine for 2 months. New belt split in half (literally down the middle) and one half shredded and took out the engine fan wiring harness. The old belt was in the same condition after 115k miles. Didn't think anything of it, but apparently I have a pulley or idler issue as well. No apparent wobbles. After the belt shredded, the compressor quit engaging. Put on new belt, repaired fan harness. I now have gray codes in the system of P0645 A/C Clutch Relay Circuit and P0480 Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit Malfunction, but no hard codes that trip the Check Engine indicator. Jumped out the Clutch Relay and the compressor fired up. Swapped out with another relay but still will not engage. Also checked all known fuses associated with the A/C and Climate Control, as listed in owners manual. I'll attach a pic of my gauges as evidence the compressor seems to be functioning correctly when jumped out. It's about 80 degrees and at idle.
What else could be interfering with the compressor engaging??

hog wild...Thanks for your response. Turns out that it was just a fuse in the engine compartment. Though I had checked ALL the fuses previously, I looked up specific A/C or Climate Control fuses/relays listed in the Owner's Manual. All listed A/C related component FIRST, so I missed Location 70 which says, "PCM (sensors) - EFC, A/C clutch coil". I simply did not ID it so never went back to check THAT fuse again. I guess when the compressor engaged with fragments of shredded belt still around the clutch, it overloaded and blew. My Ford guy is GREAT. He only charged me an hour, and gave me a choice...$2,800 for Ford to fix it, or to take the info and do what I need to do. I had a bad fan clutch, and a slight leak in my evaporator, besides the fuse. So $250 for a Motorcraft clutch, a 20A fuse, and about .5 hr of my time, and I have cold air again. I just need to juice it up every so often until I get the $159 evaporator replaced. Therein lies the heart of the $2,800 number....LABOR for Ford to remove/reinstall the dash. No problems. I can get that done. Thank you to all who read and considered a solution to my problem. Turns out it was a simple diagnosis, and as usual, a simple miss on my part.. Now, on to my next issue....I'll start a new thread.
