Picked up a new project yesterday

Drove to NC to pick up a solid 1990 F150 regular cab short bed 2wd 5.0 auto. Plans are to get it cleaned up and look into a lowering kit and a nice sounding exhaust system, wheels and tires, improve suspension capability. Then heads, and cam. Just looking for a fun mild cruiser.

If if anyone has any recommendations or tips I’m all ears! Thanks

Nice ride. I'm kinda partial though.

DJM 3/5 lowering kit +1" shackles

I thought about doing something with the 302 but decided to put a big block or coyote in it. Hopefully next years project.

Very nice looking truck. Tips: Run codes and change all fluids. Check vac lines, wheel bearings, brakes etc. Safety items are always first on my list. That is going to be a great project for the winter. Have fun and Congratulations on the find.

looks great, I’m debating the 3/5 or 3/4 kit. Along with new shocks, bushings and sway bars. Will look into a rear disc conversion too.

I would suggest the 3/4 even though I have the 3/5 unless your going for the Cali lean. The back sat between three quarters of an inch to one inch lower than the front. That's why I had to add the one inch lift shackle.

With my tires, if I really slam a pot hole they will bottom out on the fender lip because I have yet to add extended bump stops.

When I did my install, every bushing was replaced along with shocks, bearings, brakes, rotors, seals and u-joints.

The alignment was off so bad I debated on getting the truck towed so I didn't mess the new tires up.

Other than my 1" lift shackles creaking to the point of embarrassment all is well and I'm loving it.

Ive gotten more compliments on this truck than I ever did on my challenger RT and SRT8.

Heres a couple interior shots. The CB has been taken out since.

Im currently in the process of installing a full Autometer gauge cluster.

In my erea, you don't see this body style unless it's in pretty bad shape and you definatly don't see them modded out so I thought this would be a pretty cool Street/Strip ride.
