Brake line from anti lock weeping.

As title states. Brake line from the anti lock weeping fluid through the rust. Anybody replaced this. Is it a pita? Also power steering line doesn't look like it's got much life left.

Also. Assume it shouldn't be driven until lines replaced?

Buy a kit of pre bent lines for around $100, use poly line or bend my own?

Im currently hunting a pull while braking issue. Found what looks like rust on the line going to the rear brakes during my visual inspection. Looks like its starting to get moist near the area.

Unless you have professional experience bending and flaring lines, Id buy a kit. I found these guys selling prebent steel lined or stainless hardlines:
https://www.sstubes.com/collections/...Excursion-2001

Good prices on the kits themselves for stainless, but not sure how much shipping will cost.

***ALSO*** How do we determine if we have rear wheel or 4 wheel ABS? Ive got wheel speed sensors on the front wheel hubs, safe to assume I have 4 whee abs?

I have the same question about abs. Was just heading out to the shop to look at the abs module. It is driver front right behind head light.

have you checked the slide pins on all 4 calipers ? A stuck rear pin will cause a pull just like a front.

i was under the impression all excursions were 4 wheel anti lock, but then again I have not researched that so....

5 lines into abs module so assume all four wheels have abs.

Shipping isn't too bad for one of these kits - For regular (not expedited) rate, this site actually offers free shipping (had to go all the way up to checkout to find this though) but I'm not sure if that's a temporary offer. I only paid $20 from a different seller

This is my understanding as well, that even the Fleet/Stripper/XL versions still had 4wABS

I did a front brake job on my Ex last night. New Motorcraft Pad kit, Motorcraft front slide pin kits and machined the rotors. Slide pins on front were not stuck in any way, but I replaced them to zero their mileage. Im still thinking the right front caliper isnt getting full pressure, as the right side pads were about 2mm outboard, 3mm inboard, where the left pads were nearly metal to metal outboard and 1mm inboard. Both front calipers are reman Ford calipers, pistons retracted easily, no leaks from the piston seals. Didnt get a chance to follow the hardlines up front yet. Ill check the rear brakes tonight. I can get a motorcraft r/f hose for a reasonable amount through my work. If the rears are ok and my visual on the front hardlines are ok, ill start with a r/f rubber hose and go from there. Ill start a new thread tonight to chronicle my journey through this.

I ran my VIN through the F-T.com VIN decoder and it did indeed pop up being 4W ABS, thats great news! I appreciate the confirmation from the members as well!

sstubes.com indeed does offer free shipping on orders of $99 and up. Good to know, just hope the lines dont get bent during shipping if I order them lol.

I can get a complete prebent steel hard line brake tube set of ebay from Inline tube. They have tech support and where helpful. $128 shippped to house... They have stainless steel lines but can't justify the extra cost considering how crusty the white pig is....
