2004 explorer defrost not working.

Hey guys, Got an 02 explorer that has no air coming out of anything in general with the fan on any speed. Checked all of the doors, the arm and linkages look good. When turning the selector switch I can see the arms move on the doors about every 1 in 20 times. My guess is the switch is bad. I tested with light/meter and I get power to the switch but not to the 6 connector plug portion. Switch bad?

Also I want to insure that I have defrost until the new switch arrives, which door needs to be propped open to achieve this? Photos diagrams would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

switch to test

Update,

I have an 02, everything seems to work except the defrost, pulled the motor, clean up inside. . The 3 actuators on the passenger's side all seem to function properly as does the door above the blower motor. No vacuum leaks at those points either. Checked the vacuum lines in the engine compartment, 15 inches at 5200'. The door for the defrost seems to work but no changes in flow at the actual openings by the windshield.

How do these switches work?

There is an electrical plug in on one side and what appears to be vacuum line plug in just to the other side of the back of the unit.. Anyone know how this switch actually functions?

Well, I've got an 03 XLT that has very little defrost flow, still. I mean I removed the entire assembly to find a plastic pin on a louver broken. That louver or door controls the split of air to different areas. Everything appeared to work normally but the door never raised. You just can't see it in the box that holds the door. That make sense? I gerry rigged mine to work again but I think my fix has failed. The plus is now I know how to get it apart and back together so it will go quicker. Just a matter of actually getting to it.
I thought I wrote this up with pics on this forum?
