Looking for some advice on getting a new cam and heads for my 302 engine that will give me more hp and performance.

Current setup on my 78 f100 2wd shortbed

94 302 engine block (bored out at 30 over)
Edelbrock performer carb 600cfm
Edelbrock performer Intake manifold
Bbk shorty headers


Was looking into the lunati voodoo cam but not sure what heads would pair with it.

Cost wise a set of GT40 or GT40P heads would be the cheapest unless you can find a set of used aftermarket heads for sale.
If you buying new then we'd have to know your budget?
Do use a roller cam as that block is roller ready and consider adding a set of roller rockers with the 1.7 ratio.

 

You didn't mention what pistons are in that shortblock. How much deck clearance do they have at TDC ? Will the reliefs clear 2.02 valves ? That Performer intake and carb will be a bottleneck to good heads. Any head will do. cam depends on what heads you choose and what you want it to do.

 

Edelbrock E-street/ Comp 260H or similar. 2200 stall if automatic.
