Annoying problem with resolution - starting issue
I have taken ownership of a 1999 F-250 Superduty with the V10. It has an annoying electrical issue that I just can't get a good solid lead on how to repair it correctly. It runs perfectly without any warning lights on dash and no codes are thrown. I have to disconnect and reconnect the battery just about every time to start the engine. If I don't the engine just cranks with no signs of spark. I have installed a battery disconnect switch in the cab so I don't have to open the hood every time. Im guessing that I am resetting the PCM every time allowing the computer to let it run...………….I know that this isn't fixing the issue but it is working ok. I know when it comes time to sell for an upgrade it will be an issue...…..any input will help.

Thank you for the starting points. I will try the first recommendation and get back on here with my findings. It was on a shop scanner a couple of weeks ago and nothing that throws codes were indicated. I was getting an airbag light a few months ago and it was that light bulb in the dash switch so I was able to eliminate the only dash light. A CEL came on a month ago for a day saying it had a running rich issue but the light is no longer on and no codes...……...
